5 Tips for Healthy, Strong Nails

Keeps hands very clean.

Before you do anything, it’s important to make sure your nails and the skin around them are thoroughly dirt-free. Then remove all traces of your last color with an acetone-free remover (anything else unnecessarily dries out your nail). Dr. Ava Shamban, author of Heal Your Skin, recommends applying soap to a toothbrush, then gently scrubbing your nails and skin. This will remove dirt and exfoliate any dead skin without the need for harsh, drying chemicals or expensive scrubs.

Manicure and Pedicure:

Manicures and pedicures are as equally as  important for your nails like the points mentioned above. It is the same with going for regular haircuts, regular facials and most importantly regular body checkups. Let us read in detail about it.

 Trims Regularly:

Regular trims are as important to your nails as they are to your hair, says Dr. Prystowsky. So set aside time to clip them every two weeks, adjusting to more or less often once you see how your nails respond.

They get tanned:

Don’t be shocked. Your nail’s do get tanned. So it is also advisable for you to keep them covered when you go out on summer days. This will prevent your nails from getting yellowish.

Considers Your diet:

Follow a good diet for nails. Fragile nails can be caused by iron deficiencies. Foodstuffs abundant in iron include liver, trim red meats, species of fish, soy products, beans, lentils, whole grain products, green spinach, fresh vegetables, asparagus, parsley, poultry along with turkey, nuts, egg yolks, dry fruits like raisins, dates and apricots, etc. Eat a lot of these to help keep your nails healthy!

Allow them to breathe :

If you have a habit of keeping your nails painted always or your profession demands so, make sure you let them breathe for at least once day in a week. By allowing them to breather, we mean remove your nail polish every now and then. And let your nails breathe overnight at least.
You can let your nails breathe by removing the nail paint with any nail polish remover of your choice and leave them unpainted for a day or two.
